Radu Danu

Radu DANU is a project manager focusing on support for civil society and independent media in Eastern Partnership and Central Asia countries.

Experience: Before joining in 2021 Equal Rights & Independent Media (doing business as IREX Europe) in

France, he worked for 2 years at the External Policies Directorate of EPP Group in the European Parliament and the Secretariat of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum in Brussels, Belgium.

Since 2019 Radu has been an Affiliated Expert of Centre of European Expertise - Europuls, based in Bucharest.

In 2018 he also worked as senior consultant in external relations and European integration at the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova.

Radu obtained in 2019 a master degree in European Interdisciplinary Studies, with a major on EU's relations with ENP countries from the College of Europe (Natolin, Poland). He holds a master degree in International relations from University of Bologna (Italy, 2017) and a bachelor degree in History from Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava (Romania, 2015). He completed academic exchanges at Johns Hopkins University (SAIS Europe, Italy, 2016), Jagiellonian University in Krakow (Poland, 2013-2014) and Comenius University (Slovakia, 2017).

During 2015-2017 Radu also completed various internships at the Romanian Government, Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and diplomatic missions of Romania and Republic of Moldova to the United Nations Office in Vienna, Austria.

Areas of expertise:

EU's foreign policy, EU public diplomacy, project management, media and information literacy and civil society in Eastern Partnership and Central Asia regions, building partnerships, stakeholder mapping, youth policies, brain drain, migration and external border management.

Languages: Romanian - native, English, Russian, French (fluent), Italian and Polish (intermediate level).

Radu is currently based in France, but soon will relocate to Poland for professional reasons.
